What is Japanese Knotweed

Japanese Knotweed is an invasive plant from East Asia, now problematic in Paisley as well as Europe and North America.

It grows rapidly, damaging ecosystems and infrastructure with its aggressive spread and strong roots. The plant’s resilience makes it difficult to eradicate, often requiring chemical, physical, or biological control methods.

Many countries have implemented strict regulations to combat its spread, but it remains a persistent environmental and economic concern.

How do we remove Japanese Knotweed in Paisley

Our experts will conduct an in-depth survey of your Paisley property to assess the extent of the Japanese Knotweed infestation.

Based on the survey, we will create a tailored Knotweed Management Plan (KMP), which may include herbicide treatment, stem injection, or excavation & removal.

Our London based team will then carry out the treatment as per the plan, ensuring the complete and effective management of the invasive plant.

I called this company in a panic when a neighbour spotted giant knotweed in my garden. This company immediately put me at ease and had an inspector at my property within a couple of hours. Luckily, it turned out not to be knotweed – I received a written notification of this the very next day- but I was hugely impressed by everyone I dealt with. Calls were returned immediately and nothing seemed too much trouble. AMAZING customer service. Elaine. Glasgow

What does Japanese Knotweed look like?

Japanese Knotweed (Reynoutria japonica) is an invasive plant causing significant issues in Paisley and the UK.

Early detection is key. It’s characterized by hollow, bamboo-like stems up to 3 metres tall with reddish-brown nodes. Heart-shaped leaves grow in a zig-zag pattern along the stems.

The plant produces small white flowers in spring, followed by seed clusters.
